It is about the book "The summer in which time stood still" by Tanya Stewner. The main character is Juli, whose life is seemingly perfect. Rich parents and super grades. What more could you want? But behind all the perfection Juli just wants a little more love. When everything becomes too much for her, she escapes to her clearing. But one day there is a guy in her clearing. He acts strange, doesn’t know the most natural things and his way of expressing himself is also strange. Juli tries to get behind his secret and does not suspect that this will change her whole life.
The book "The summer in which time stopped" is a young adult novel from the fantasy genre. The story is told from the first person perspective of Juli. The author manages to tell an incredible touching story in an easy going writing style. The plot is coherent and easy to follow. It is easy to understand the thought processes/world of Juli and empathize with her character. In the novel the author has also built in themes that make you think and are very current. I also think the cover is very successful, because the colors fit well together and it also fits the content of the story. I give 5/5 stars⭐ because this story totally touched me and probably won’t let me go for some time.

Juli likes to be alone sometimes and when that’s the case she disappears to "hers" clearing, a beautiful place in the forest that no one else knows about. But suddenly a handsome boy stands in front of her, from which she can not avert her gaze. He acts weird though, somehow he speaks differently and keeps mumbling something about not being able to cope with the world atmosphere. But he can’t tell Juli where he comes from and Juli can’t talk about the mysterious stranger as if by magic.
Juli is a very intelligent girl who likes to see logical explanations behind everything. She has her best friend, doesn’t seem to be very popular, but not popular either. Rather almost like unimpressive. With boys she had no experience at all so far. Her parents are constantly fighting and are not really there for her, which is why she is looking for the clearing as a place of retreat in the first place.
Juli was quite sympathetic to me, she is quite different from myself, yet I could somehow identify with her well.
The novel is written in the first person from Julis point of view and is beautifully written. I had regular goosebumps somehow and in the end tears actually ran down my cheek too.
But first let’s get to the plot, which I really can’t tell too much about! It is simply about a love that is not allowed to be, which the whole world feels like it knows how to prevent. That’s all I’ll say. But at the very end, when everything was resolved, that’s when the tomatoes fell from my eyes too, and looking back I could find so many clues about what and who and how and everything. So the author really came up with this and described it very well. I also liked that only with time more and more of the big mystery was revealed and questions remained open until the last end, so it was just perfectly fitting.
Conclusion
You might already notice that I’m a bit excited about it. The whole story and the supposedly logical and scientifically explainable solution just blew me away and carried me away. In addition, there were of course the super characters and the beautiful writing style. A wonderful book for young people, which I can recommend to everyone!

It is about a girl named Juli. She doesn’t really think she’s pretty herself, and she’s not very sure of herself either. Until she meets, for her the perfect and beautiful, Anjano. From then on her life and also her self-image changes. He is partly very strange until she is finally allowed to look behind his facade.
My Opinion:
I thought the book was well written, but it could be written a little more exciting. One could identify well with Juli. I liked that Juli was not, as in some books, the perfect girl, but also had her flaws. I find, the time travel occurring in the book, very one of the time event. How Juli will later try to improve the world, fits super in our time and one wants to improve directly also something. I find with this Tema the book stimulates very well to think about. I personally would not read it a second time.
Recommendation:
If a friend would ask me for my favorite book, I would not name this one. But I would recommend this one to her as a book that reads well. But it is not very exciting written. But it is a nice book that should be read as it is. A book that gives you pleasure and makes you think.

The blurb alone already points out how the story goes, but not how it ends :o)
Julie, who is fascinated by the mysterious boy, soon gets behind his secret, which is even more incredible than she can imagine.
A very romantic and humorous story but also very deep and serious message in itself hides.
A pleasant and easy writing style helps a good start into the story and the reading itself.

At the beginning you get to know Juli as she lives and breathes. She is relentlessly honest with herself and stands by herself. The first sentence says it all "I sometimes find myself a bit strange" and makes her immediately likeable in my eyes. She is a normal girl. Apparently a little nerd but not overly perfect, especially when it comes to her appearance. Except for the one thing I found it really very successful. She believed in Anjano’s story too quickly and put it all away rather casually, which just didn’t fit for me.
Anjano is the male protagonist and compared to Juli he looks perfect of course. I try not to reveal too much about him, because any information about him is just too much. You have to discover and understand your own story. His behavior is more than sweet, even if his language surprised me a little and it did not fit into the picture for me. I was a bit surprised that his background was different than expected by me. I had read the sample and was pretty sure to know where he was coming from, but that was not the case. Together with Juli I then learned about his world.
The story was now different than expected but not bad at all. Some elements were not always appropriate for me. Just the interventions sometimes seemed too unbelievable, especially in relation to Whoopi. Of course, there were strange coincidences that wanted to prevent something, but in some places I found it excessive. But I find the concept of Anjano’s world very interesting. I had already thought of this and I had asked myself exactly the same questions as July. Although I liked the story as a whole, the middle part was a bit long and drawn out.
I think the resolution at the end, when you see how everything is entangled, was wonderfully done and that also made up for the long-windedness in the middle part a bit. The ending was really nice to read and my eyes didn’t stay dry either.
Conclusion
Julia and Anjano have a magical love story. It’s sweet, surprising and there’s even a tear or two at the end. Different than expected but still very beautiful and full of emotions.
