Transfer the sparkasse app to a new cell phone

Dear readers,

Finally, the decision in the smartphone forest is made and a new phone is selected. After the joy of the purchase, there is usually the next challenge: Getting all the apps working again on the new phone. One of them is now the Sparkassen app for many people. I will show you how to do this easily.

How do I get the Sparkassen app onto my new smartphone??

The most important thing to start with is that we distinguish between the Sparkasse app and your pushTAN app. To be able to transfer money with your smartphone in the future, both apps should be set up again.

Let’s start with the foundation, the Sparkasse app.

Have you customized your app?

Which way is fastest for you depends on how actively you use the app. If you have customized your app (for example, save transfer templates or categorize sales), you should create a backup on your old phone. Then you can continue to use all the settings and customizations on your new phone as well.

You can find the backup function in the menu under "Settings" "Backup". The backup is then stored on your cell phone. Transfer all your smartphone content to your new phone, the backup will also be transferred and you can access it on the new phone.

Click on your settings and then select "Backup" In your Sparkasse app

After that, you will see an overview of your backups and can also create a new one.

Like any other app, you need to re-download the Sparkasse app, regardless of the backup, via your app store / Google Play Store. Then log in with your access data for the Sparkasse app. The function Touch-ID or Face-ID, you can set after the initial login with your password again.

Play final the backup in the app – done.

Forgotten your password for the Sparkasse app

I myself use the Sparkassen app with Face-ID. It’s hard to remember the password for this app. If you are in a similar situation and have forgotten the password altogether, your only option is to set up the app again.

Once installed, you assign a new password and can set up everything again by selecting the bank and entering the online banking credentials. Unfortunately, individualizations that have been made can no longer be retrieved.

The same applies if you have previously deleted the app from your old smartphone without backing it up or. have confirmed the info that all data should be deleted. This also deletes the data backup.

Set up PushTAN app again

After you have successfully got the Sparkasse app up and running, it makes sense to set up the pushTAN app again at the same time.

To do this, you also download this app simply new from your app store or. Google Play Store on your new cell phone. Afterwards you will be guided step by step through the new setup of the pushTAN app. You can follow the individual steps in the video.

In the course of the process, you can decide whether you want to receive the new registration code by mail or by SMS. Have the code sent to you via SMS, you can proceed directly. Otherwise, of course, you have to wait to receive the letter. (There are security criteria that only allow mailing).

With this, your new cell phone is set up again, at least as far as banking is concerned.

yes, it is possible to set up the Sparkassen app and PushTan app even on a smartphone with a new mobile number. You will probably only need to request a new registration letter from your personal advisor at your local savings bank.

Backup under Android 11/12 not working anymore

Thanks for the quick reply – via USB and PC I got to the folders and was able to import the backup.
Of course, this is all more than necessary tedious, and if you have well over 250 apps installed on a smartphone, even professionally, very time-consuming for a single application alone. Access to this directory has been blocked by Android. You have to copy the files either via a PC or with an appropriate app (which gives access to the directory).

Currently there is a plan or. an implementation of a "share-Interface via API not planned. Thank you for this suggestion for improvement.

If you would like to emphasize the need for this function, please forward this suggestion to your customer advisor(s) at the savings bank. Then check there how a change could look like and when this if necessary. is implemented.

Answer to: Change font

Hello Mr. Seegers,

we had such a similar topic before. There it was about the color of the inputs and was solvable via the device settings of the smartphone:
To do this, go to the settings of your phone, "Input help", "Improve visibility", "High contrast fonts". All markings had to be deleted. You might also be able to change the font or for example size via this.

Directly in the app I don’t know any possibility to change the font.

this sounds strange indeed. Unfortunately I can only provide a "tech standard answer" here: Log off app and close it, restart smartphone once and try again. Otherwise uninstalling and then reinstalling might still help or alternatively you can contact app support directly: [email protected] or via the form in the Sparkasse app under Settings.

after successful setup of both apps, I wanted to check the transfer function, although with Wlan or LTE always a secure Netwerkverbinding exists, but the app tells me that none is available. Is there any way to fix this? Since I am very sure that there is a good connection.

you have to enable the use of FaceID not only in the settings of your IPhone, but also in the Sparkassen app itself. You can find the item in the "Settings" of the Sparkasse app (is in the upper left corner behind the three dashes). Then select "Security" and there should be a slider at "Use Face ID" then. If you then close and reopen the app, the new IPhone should also access Face ID.

attached the solution / cause of the problem in the form of a response from the "[email protected]" Team.

"we could reproduce the behavior now, which is caused by the update to Android 11. Since then, the files in this folder are hidden and you can only access them via the PC.

To get access to the area "Internal storage/Android/data has, you have to connect the device with the PC (cable) and create the folders via the PC resp. download the data from the PC to the smartphone."

Was able to use it to move everything to the new device.

thanks for the feedback.
The suggested steps were all comprehensible. Unfortunately the folder "ebanking completely empty except for one other file.
The location in the app is "/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com".starfinance-smob.android.sfinanzstatus/files".
Unfortunately I can not change this, which is somehow illogical.
Look in the folder". Android/data. " there is also nothing in the internal memory as well as on the SD card.

I would like to keep the old sales data, as you have given me z.B. are helpful when creating overviews.

I can not give you a very specific answer. But I will describe the process to you, how it looks like with us. Maybe this will help you:
– The Sparkasse app on an Android device stores the backup under /storage/emulated/0/banking. (You can see this also in the backup, in the settings.)
– These files must then be transferred to the new phone.
– In the "Explorer" i.e. the folder "Internal Storage" you have to change the setting from "Essentials" to "All".
– Then there is a folder called "ebanking" and here you can find the backups.
We would first try to find the backup on the old phone, and then if necessary to restore it. to transfer specifically to the new phone. Then you should also be able to determine the location and find them easier.

But if you don’t have much data stored in the app, it may also be faster to just set up the app again.

creating a database backup works on my Android device and is also confirmed by the Sparkassen app.
Restoring on the same device is also possible.
However, I have not yet been able to locate the location specified in the app in the file manager. It seems to be well hidden. It is therefore impossible to take it with you to the new smartphone.
Do you have any idea how to find the backups in memory.

You have to take the backup to the new device by importing the complete data from your old device to the new smartphone. If you then open the Sparkasse app, you can apply the backup via the settings.

Whether you need a new registration letter or not depends on whether your phone number changes with the new smartphone. If this remains the same, you can make the new activation in the pushTAN app on the new device.

You can try the following: In the financial status, go to the account where you want to have the turnovers. In the account then on the account details (bottom right). if you have a Huawei device without Google Play Store, you will not be able to download and use the Sparkassen app. These are not available in the Huawei-AppGallery according to the current status.
