2022 awaits us with some exciting announcements from the hotel industry as well. Radisson Collection Berlin
The Radisson hotel chain made a start in Berlin, with the reopening of the Radisson Blu Berlin as the first Radisson Collection hotel in Germany. Just over a year ago, the former Radisson Blu, located just a few meters from Hackescher Markt and Berlin Cathedral, closed its doors. After extensive renovations in the rooms and suites as well as the lobby, the new flagship hotel welcomes you with a new lease and an elegant design.

You can look forward to a total of 427 rooms and suites in this luxury hotel in Berlin. Some have balconies, others offer views of the world’s largest free-standing aquarium with 1.600 tropical fish, which was also refurbished just before the hotel closed. The chic and modern design with subtle shades of gray and purple runs throughout the guest rooms. The interior will be complemented by a collection of curated artworks and accessories. Also from the culinary point of view there are some innovations in the Radisson Collection Hotel Berlin. The newly designed Atrium Bar provides a very special experience.
In March, the Balaustine restaurant will then also open its doors. Here you can immerse yourself in the flavors of the Middle East, thanks to authentic cocktails and a variety of dishes. However, it remains to be seen whether the hotel will also become part of our reisetopia Hotels portfolio.
sly Berlin
The next hotel opening in the capital also marks the home of a new luxury hotel. With the sly Berlin opens Preferred Hotels& Resorts this summer a new hotel in the trendy Berlin district Friedrichshain. A total of four renovated buildings are part of the new hotel, connected by a large courtyard as well as a 220-square-meter greenhouse. In total, the sly Berlin houses 150 rooms and suites, some of which will have their own balconies.
Oberbaumbrucke Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg
The design of the hotel fits in with the urban Berlin scene. Oak wood, Italian serpentine stone, stainless steel and concrete accents can be found in the interior. Other amenities you can look forward to in the future include a modern gym and a large sauna on the roof, which also offers a spectacular view of Berlin. In the greenhouse move a restaurant and bar with an open kitchen.

Hotel Luc Berlin
One of the hotel openings in 2022 that is probably most impatiently awaited is that of the Hotel Luc in Berlin. The 5-star hotel is located directly on the Gendarmenmarkt and is therefore ideally connected to all sights. Already last year the opening of the Marriott Autograph Collection hotel was aimed, in February it is now finally so far. The name of the hotel comes from the nickname of Frederick II. From Prussia. The interior style is also inspired by the Prussian history of Berlin’s Gendarmenmarkt. JW Marriott Berlin
Another luxury hotel that will open its doors in the German capital this year is the JW Marriott Berlin. However, this is not a new building. Marriott "opens" its first JW Marriott hotel in Germany with the acquisition of the well-known Maritim Hotel in Berlin’s Tiergarten district. The hotel is owned by ARTIC and is currently still operated as Hotel Berlin Central District. In the course of a gradual renovation, which is planned for four years, it will function consequently with its 505 rooms and suites this year as JW Marriott.
You can already book the hotel through Marriott. Marriott Bonvoy members can use the hotel, with the rewards category 5, already with 35.000 points per night book. Part of the renovation work includes the exterior and interior as well as the lobby and other public facilities. Even the guest rooms will later shine in a new, modern design. During the renovation, however, the hotel will remain open. Furnishings and design will be touched to JW Marriott’s high standards and inspired by nature. Warm colors and light tones will be captivating throughout the hotel.
Of course, the 5.The 500-square-meter conference and event area will be extensively renovated in order to be able to host large events in the future as one of the best conference hotels in Berlin, in the style of the JW Marriott brand.

Travel Charme hotels on the North Sea and Baltic Sea
Travel Charme Hotels& Resorts are characterized primarily by individual and charming luxury hotels in the four& five-star segment from. In total, the hotel brand, which was acquired by the Hirmer Group in 2018, includes ten hotels in Germany and Austria. Among them the Ostseehotel Kuhlungsborn and the Kurhaus Binz. In 2020, the hotel brand also took over the Hotel Bachmair am See at Tegernsee in Bavaria.
Boltenhagen Beach
This year, Travel Charme also has two more hotel openings on the schedule. At the same time it is also two exciting new construction projects. On the one hand, this includes the Travel Charme Hotel Boltenhagen. Boltenhagen is the third oldest seaside resort on the Baltic Sea and a popular vacation destination in Germany. The new hotel will house a total of 115 rooms and suites. In addition, there is an approximately 1.200 square meter wellness area, a large restaurant as well as a beach bistro in the hotel and a wine bar.
St. Peter-Ording beach
The second new hotel building is the first Travel Charme Hotel on the North Sea. In Schleswig-Holstein, more precisely in the popular vacation resort of St. Peter-Ording is planned for this year the Travel Charme SPO. Altogether the modern new building will cover 90 guest rooms, distributed on four floors. In addition, there is a restaurant, a large wellness area with gym, conference rooms and a spectacular rooftop bar with a unique view of the North Sea.
Even if you can book both hotels probably not over reisetopia hotels, Travel Charme hotels are always worth a stay and straight at the North Sea and Baltic Sea the hotels should stand on your list.
Lanserhof Sylt
Another planned hotel opening on the North Sea has already caused a stir in Germany. This is the Lanserhof on the island of Sylt. The new luxury hotel in the middle of List and with view of the North Sea counts in media circles already as most expensive hotel in Germany. On a plot area of 20.000 square meters, 68 rooms and an approximately 50.000 square meters large treatment and medical area. The so-called Lanserhof Concept combines cutting-edge medicine, naturopathy and recognized therapeutic procedures with a luxurious stay.
So the guests should be able to regenerate physically and mentally. Part of the offer are regular check-ups, therapies and on request MRI and CT – appointments. In addition, there will be a spa area with saunas, steam baths, a relaxation area as well as indoor and outdoor pools. The opening of the luxury hotel is in the spring, for the 1. May 2022 planned. The Lanserhof Group also owns four other hotels – at Tegernsee in Bavaria, in Lans in Austria, the Lanserhof at the Arts Club in London Mayfair and the Lans Medicum in Hamburg.
Although this hotel will not be part of our reisetopia Hotels portfolio, it is an exciting and above all exclusive addition to the range of hotels on Sylt.
Hard Rock Hotel Hamburg
This hotel opening will not be one of the best luxury hotels in Hamburg, but it is worth mentioning and it is something special in any case. Already last year should have been built on the roof of the bunker in St. Pauli to open a hotel with the nhow Hamburg. But not only the date, also the hotel itself have changed. Instead of the nhow hotel, a Reverb by Hard Rock hotel is scheduled to open here within the first six months of the year. For this purpose, the imposing building was extended by five floors. The exterior design of the hotel will be just as interesting.
Here a green mountain path stretches out to the roof of the hotel, which will take you as guests as well as visitors to the restaurant there. An extraordinary stay is probably guaranteed in one of the 134 rooms, because the unique style of the hotel is supposed to extend to the interior design. With the King, Double-Queen and Roadie Bunk rooms, you can also expect individual categories, equipped with modern and comfortable furniture, unique artworks, a large desk and elegant bathrooms with high-quality care products.
Even if the hotel will not be bookable over reisetopia hotels, it forms the townscape of Hamburg beside the Millerntor stadium and is, like also the Hanseatic city, worth a visit in this year.
DoubleTree by Hilton Hanover Schweizerhof
The former Crowne Plaza Hotel Schweizerhof was acquired by Hilton at the beginning of the year and will now be managed as DoubleTree by Hilton. The hotel is centrally located in Hanover’s city center, only a few minutes away from the main train station, but still quietly situated due to the many green areas. A total of 200 guest rooms are available to you. Details about possible renovations are not available yet. The guest rooms in different categories are modern and spacious and offer you partly also a private balcony. The suites receive you on approx. 60 square meters besides with a separate living and sleeping area.
Culinary delights await you at the Bistro Schweizerhof, which has a terrace in summer. The open show kitchen serves international dishes as well as coffee and cake in the afternoon. The wellness area of the Schweizerhof, which offers you a lot of space for rest and relaxation on 400 square meters, will certainly be preserved as well. This includes a modern gym, a sauna as well as a wide range of massages and traditional Ayurveda treatments.
Even though the DoubleTree by Hilton in Hanover will not be a reisetopia hotel, the acquisition marks Hilton’s debut in the Lower Saxony city.
Hotel Konigshof Munich at the Stachus
Another exciting new opening is about to take place in the Bavarian capital Munich. Until late last year, the luxury Hotel Konigshof on Munich’s Karlsplatz was owned by Geisel Privathotels, which also owns Beyond by Geisel, also in Munich. Now the Munich family business INKA Karlsplatz GmbH& Co. KG will be the new owner, with Geisel Privathotels completing the planned new Hotel Konigshof building by the end of the year.
The Konigshof has been one of the top hotels in Europe for more than 100 years. With the new building, we can also look forward to a unique five-star hotel in the heart of Munich. The owner family around Dr. Hans Inselkammer will certainly lead the new building to success with a special host philosophy. Further information to the new hotel operator as well as further details do not give it so far yet. A very likely hotel brand could be Marriott’s Luxury Collection.
